The DHM faculty works as the primary attending physicians on general medicine wards and provides medical consultation to other specialized services. They also provide comprehensive medical care to patients with complicated medical problems. Surgical patients are automatically attended by a hospitalist as part of the hospitalist’s co-management services. The goal of these services is to reduce post-operative complications, length of stay, and mortality by promoting better communication and collaboration among the team.

The 1st City Clinical Hospital was established on April 1, 1931. It is one of the oldest medical institutions in Minsk. It offers 680 regular beds, modern medical equipment, and fully-equipped diagnostic rooms. The hospital is home to several departments and specialties, including rheumatology, internal medicine, and obstetrics. The clinic also has a separate maternity ward that provides care for pregnant women and newborn babies.

The ownership structure of a hospital can either be for-profit or non-profit. Hospitals that are not-for-profit have no obligation to earn profits. However, they still have to remain financially sustainable to maintain their programs. Some non-profit hospitals invest their excess funds into new equipment, staff training, and research. That way, the hospital can invest its excess funds in improving patient care. This, in turn, increases patient satisfaction. There are many benefits to working in a hospital, including secure employment and career prospects.
